The 2011 TCM Classic Film Festival Returns to Hollywood April 28 – May 1, 2011.

Last year’s TCM Classic Film Festival was great! This year should prove to be just as much fun. The theme this year is ‘music and the movies’, kicking off with AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (1951). I would suggest buying a pass to the festival although I went without a pass last year and was able to purchase walk-up tickets. The walk-up tickets were sold just prior to the show at the box office. We had to wait for those with passes to enter first… I made sure to get in line early and only missed out on one movie that I really wanted to see because the theatre filled up.  A pass doesn’t guarantee a seat either, but you stand a better chance of getting in if you arrive early.

Passes may be purchased  from TCM’s website. Passes may also be purchased by phone at 877.TCM.5764 from 10am to 6pm ET business days.

There are four levels of passes:

The Matinee ($299)

  • Access to all film programs starting prior to 6pm at all festival venues Friday, April 29-Sunday, May 1
  • Admission to Club TCM events and panels at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel until 6pm daily, Friday, April 29 – Sunday, May 1
  • Commemorative festival program

The Classic ($499)

  • Access to all film programs at all festival venues Thursday, April 28-Sunday May 1 (does not include admittance to Opening Night Red Carpet Gala screening at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre or Vanity Fair Opening Night Party)
  • Admission to all Club TCM events, panels and poolside screenings at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
  • Opening Night welcome party on Thursday, April 28 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
  • Friday and Saturday night passholder gatherings
  • Closing Night event on Sunday, May 1
  • Commemorative festival program

 

The Essential ($599-Sold out!)

  • All of the benefits of the Classic pass, plus:
  • Entry to Opening Night Red Carpet Gala screening on Thursday, April 28, at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (does not include Vanity Fair Opening Night Party)
  • Official TCM Classic Film Festival collectibles

 

The Spotlight ($1199-Sold Out!)

  • All of the benefits of the Essential pass, plus:
  • Priority entry to all shows
  • Entry to the Vanity Fair Opening Night party following the Red Carpet Gala screening of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (1951)
  • Exclusive “meet and greet” events with TCM friends hosted by Robert Osborne
  • Official festival poster signed by Robert Osborne
